The DGMO’s clarification came in after a news report widely shared stated that the Indian Army had carried out precision strikes against terrorist launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation to Pakistan’s attempts to disturb peace in India.
There seems to have been confusion with respect to the timelines as no strikes were conducted today but sources perhaps informed news agency PTI about the action taken by the army on November 13.
Airstrike In POK
Many have believed that this news could be true, as for some weeks the number of ceasefire violations and use of heavy artillery has increased towards civilians living near the LoC (Line Of Control).
Some days before on the Occasion of Diwali, there was a ceasefire violation near LoC in which 4 civilians have lost their lives. In response to it, the Indian Government has summoned Pakistan High Commissioner and lodged a strong protest against the unprovoked firings.
These ceasefire violations have increased in numbers, from the time the Indian Government has removed the special status of Jammu and Kashmir last August.
