Recently the leading foreign publication WSJ alleged Facebook India turned a blind eye to hate speech by a BJP leader. And now the largest opposition party’s former President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attack on BJP and RSS by claiming that these two are controlling Facebook and WhatsApp in India. BJP spread fake news and influence the electorate, Rahul Gandhi added.

On Twitter, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared the article by American Publication Wall Street Journal titled “Facebook Hate-Speech Rules Collide With Indian Politics”. As Report alleged, Facebook turned a blind eye to hate speech by BJP leader T Raja Singh and others. The social media giant is ignoring all these hate speeches to avoid the damages to its business prospects, the report added.

In his tweet, Rahul Gandhi Said;

“BJP & RSS control Facebook & Whatsapp in India. They spread fake news and hatred through it and use it to influence the electorate. Finally, the American media has come out with the truth about Facebook.”

After this, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor retweeted this post with a comment. He said that the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology would wish to hear from Facebook about the same.

In response, Central Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad replied to Gandhi’s tweet. He said that the Congress has the “gall to question us” when they were caught “red-handed in alliance with Cambridge Analytica & Facebook. That is to weaponize data before the elections.”

“Losers who cannot influence people even in their own party keep cribbing that the entire world is controlled by BJP & RSS.” Prasad further added, “You were caught red-handed in alliance with Cambridge Analytica & Facebook to weaponize data before the elections & now have the gall to question us?”

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal had alleged that Facebook has a “broad pattern of favoritism” towards the ruling party BJP.
