Boycott Amazon Over Hurting Hindu Sentiments?
This is not new for Amazon as the company faces such backslash several times in the past. However, people start suggesting Amazon to learn how to respect religion. The outrage went viral as many people find this a shameful act and also hurting ‘Sanatan Dharm.’
In 2016, Amazon faces such backslash for selling doormats with faces of Hindu gods on them. There were over 60 separate doormats being sold. However, Amazon soon realised that the problem wasn’t limited to the Hindi religion. Since Christianity and Islamic religious images of Jesus and the Holy Quran featured on floor mats.
Even in n 2017 Amazon’s Canadian website had a doormat with the Indian tricolor. The company later apologised when India’s external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj intervene.
Meanwhile, some users also urge to support local (Vocal For Local) products & companies for strengthening India. Therefore, in the same row, one user wrote, “#BoycottAmazon buy local and support your community.”
