The Center has granted permission to tobacco and liquor shops to resume their operations in some districts. This new order will be applied from 4 May.

With the order of extending the lockdown for two more weeks the government has allowed the opening of tobacco and liquor shops in Green and Orange zone. Also the shops will be allowed to open in Red zone meeting the criteria of not opening in the hotspots as well as outside the containment areas.

The liquor and tobacco shops inside the malls and shopping complexes will continue to remain shut. This order is only for the stand alone shops.

Meanwhile shop owners are also directed to practice social distancing in their shops ensuring a minimum distance of two metres between the customers.
