Many businesses and companies across the world seem to struggle amid the COVID-19 pandemic. And during these times, ‘Work From Home’ comes as a lifesaver option for these companies, especially dor IT companies. However, now business operations start opting for this option on a parament basis as it becomes the ‘new normal’ post-peak pandemic.
And now IT giant HCL and Tech Mahindra are looking to join the list of these companies, where WFH becomes a permanent option for many employees.
According to a report from Business Insider, Tech Mahindra told that around 25% – 30% of employees will be permanently working from home even after the lockdown lifts. Additionally, this will cause some major changes in policies, facilities as well as onboarding process.
Reportedly, Tech Mahindra is trying to get that number within the next four quarters (around March-June, 2021).
Meantime, some top IT companies in India like Infosys & TCS have already announced the same. These companies are planning to make work from a home a permanent part of their operating models. Even TCS introduces the 25/25 model for the same. And now HCL Technologies also has a 50/50 model vision for WFH.
What is TCS & HCL Work From Home (25/25) Model?
Actually, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) proposes that only 25% of the employees will work from the office. And each one will only spend 25% of their time in the office. Tata Group-owned firm plans to hit the mark in the next five years.
Although, if we talk about HCL Technologies’ 50/50 model, then it seems very simple. As per this model, 50% of HCL’s employees will work from home and 50% from the office. HCL plans to achieve this goal over the next 12-18 months.
