Sonu Sood’s Pravasi Rojgar Gets Rs 250 Cr Funding From GoodWorker | Jobs For Migrant Workers

Popular Bollywood actor Sonu Sood comes as a real hero during Lockdown days. And now even companies start supporting Sonu Sood’s work. In the same row, Sonu’s initiative for blue-collar job workers, Pravasi Rojgar, has received Rs 250 crore funding from GoodWorker.

However, GoodWorker itself is a job matching platform that helps workers regarding employment. The company is an arm of Singapore-based Temasek Holdings.

The Pravasi Rojgar (Migrants’ Jobs) is an online employment portal for blue-collar job-workers. The platform aims to address the challenges faced by the blue-collar worker community.

As per ET, Sonu Sood claims that in the past four months, the portal has already got 10 lakh registrations and thousands of employers. Meanwhile, in the same report, Sonu claims that around 40,000 workers are going to join new jobs via the platform.

However, as the lockdown is no more, the demand is going to increase rapidly. That’s why Sonu Sood wants to be ready and scale up the platform to help a larger population.

Meantime, GoodWorker will form a joint venture with Sood and Schoolnet. The company is going to invest Rs 250 crore over the next 18 months. It will also help in the technological advancement of the Pravasi Rojgar Portal.

Additionally, after this investment, aims to reach 10 crore Indians. It will provide access to good jobs and career progression through upskilling services, followed by financial, healthcare, and social security services.

“I came in touch with a lot of migrant workers during the lockdown and they all had one concern, how to get a job after the lockdown and support their families. With the blessing of these workers and their families and other well-wishers, I tried to get the right-minded people and partner with Schoolnet for,” Sood told ET.
