Today Zoom Video Communications Inc (ZM.O) announced that it is going to open a technology centre in the Indian IT hub city of Bengaluru and will speedily start the hiring process to get a stronghold in India.
Velchamy Sankarlingam, Zoom’s president of product and engineering said, Diversification of the company for the new technology centre would be targetting research and development, IT, security as well as business operations.
The company already has its office and data centre in the city of Mumbai and also a data centre in Bengaluru.
Sankarlingam also added that more data centres can be added in the future depending on its growth necessity. Nothing related to the investment plans in India and the number of people they will be hiring is revealed by zoom.
There has been a soar in the use of Zoom’s video conferencing services worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic forcing people to work from home. But the service has also been under target because of its privacy and security features.
India in the past along with other countries has been vocal about Zoom not being a safe platform raising issues with the security of its services.
